This afternoon a new security certificate was delivered to Mohamed Harkat at his residence.

The Justice for Mohamed Harkat Committee condemns this action of the Canadian government.

The "old" security certificate was not only unconstitutional but also a violation of all the norms of
justice and human rights.

With C-3, security certificate, secret trials, deportation to torture remain unconstitutional, a violation of all norms of justice and human rights.

The demands of the Justice for Mohamed Harkat remain:

· Aboslish the security certitificate

· The immediate and unconditional release of the detainees currently in jail and under house arrest,
or their fair trial under the pre-ATA criminal code if any evidence actually exists against them;

· An end to all deportation proceedings against all currently held under security certificates;

· The cessation of any and all practices of deporting, or seeking to deport, people to countries where they will face imprisonment, torture or death; and,

· The closing of the Kingston Immigration Holding Centre.
